 July 18, 2008  Ashton Observatory Ashton-Wildwood Park, Jasper County Mingo, Iowa Open House 5:30 - 6:45 p.m. (Skies permitting, solar viewing for early arrivals) Picnic 6:45 - 7:45 p.m. Your down-home menu will include: BarBQ Chicken Corn on the Cob Homestyle Potato Salad Baked Beans Ice Tea - Lemonade - Ice Water - Coffee Cherry & Apple Pies Ice Cream Entertainment /Speaker 7:45 - 9 p.m.  Open Viewing (skies permitting) 9 - 11 p.m. Space is available if you wish to bring and set up your own observing equipment. Transportation Bus transportation to the event can be arranged for an additional $15 fee.
